…people riding the future. As we see it, surfing the wave of AI is the only way forward.

In January 2026, we founded the Polish company OdeonOne. It became the first to join Google Poland’s new startup program. Like many startups, our goals evolved as new opportunities kept opening up.

Our original idea was to build a streaming platform for microdramas, with every film made using AI tools. Scripts were written, characters created, and human directors used AI to “shoot” films on their laptops. The platform was built and tested, and we were a couple of months away from a trial run. Then two things happened.

First, we realized that our many years of experience producing some of the world’s biggest TV formats and series was a powerful foundation for creating “the Next Entertainment&Edutainment Company” (Neenco, for short). Theater in Shakespeare’s time was participatory: spectators could visibly and audibly shape a performance in real time, and actors responded to the audience. With AI, we can go much further. We envision Neenco as a fully interactive experience. Users can live the story. Characters can change the plot. AI personas and digitized humans can mingle. Audiences can become participants and co-creators.

The second revelation was that we could create applications without knowing how to code. For many of our goals, we see that as an advantage. In show business, our goal was simple: make audiences feel something. Three elements were key: the story, the casting, and the performance. As producers, our job was not to write, direct, or act. It was to make sure that the creatives, crews, and talent were all making the same show.

We know what it takes to move audiences. That is the user experience that matters to us, and we learned to build applications by starting there. The tools to do so are already very powerful.

The first app we created enabled a single human writer to write a complex TV series, a job normally handled by a writers’ room led by a head writer. Our next app, Build Room, was originally conceived as a tool to improve the streaming platform’s performance. That work led us into machine learning, persistent memory, applications that can work with different AI models, provenance and governance for enterprise use. Somewhere on the horizon lies the human-controlled, responsible recursive self-improvement (RSI).

We have expanded our activities to the United States, where Selkonia Inc. is both OdeonOne’s parent company and a vehicle for further development. Based in Warsaw, Poland, OdeonOne serves as our European AI technology hub, research center, and operations headquarters.

Selkonia is our “land of lucid dreams,” a name derived from the Finnish word selkouni.
